With the eruption of the Sino-US trade war, global economic growth has slowed down. Many economies have been greatly affected, and the foreign currency exchange rate market has also become very volatile. Many investors adopt a wait-and-see attitude towards the future, hoping to listen to expert opinions and make appropriate investment arrangements.

On June 1, the University of Hong Kong's School of Professional and Continuing Education held its opening day. During the event, Mr. Andrew Leung, Senior Research Manager of Emperor Financial Services Group, was invited as a guest speaker for three consecutive years, lightheartedly shared investment strategies for the second half of 2019 and explored the trends of the stock market, foreign currency and investment around the theme of "Rational Investing: Predicting Future Trends". Mr. Leung has been engaged in financial analysis for more than 25 years and is highly familiar with the global financial economy. He has also hosted numerous financial lectures in Hong Kong, Macau, China and Indonesia.

On the lecturing day, more than 60 people attended the event to hear about his investment insights. Mr. Leung first analyzed the global economic situation based on the trends of the US economy and the US dollar exchange rate. He pointed out that the Sino-US trade war continued to heat up, and the United Kingdom was grappling with the issue of Brexit, which combined has fed instability into the global exchange rate. In addition to analyzing the trends of the euro, the yen, and the British pound over the second half of this year, Mr. Leung further elaborated on the opportunities and risks of carrying trades and indicated whether it was a good time to enter the market for the Australian dollar and the New Zealand dollar. The attendees listened carefully, noted and then examined Mr. Leung's suggestions one by one on their own, in an attempt to implement a stable investment strategy. At the end of the sharing session, they eagerly asked questions and hoped that Mr. Leung could share his predictions and opinions on the Canadian dollar, the Swiss franc and the renminbi. Last, Mr. Leung was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education.
